Defi Smart Accounts allow anyone to create a powerful smart contract wallet with advanced features such as account management, built in defi recipes, leverage multiple decentralized protocols in swift transactions.

To get started take your web3 wallet over to dsa.instadapp.io; if you have not created a DSA on your Ethereum account the GUI will ask you to create your DSA account.

  • The wallet you used to create the DSA becomes the owner of that DSA account.
  • Only owners of the account can transact with the DSA and as well as request withdrawals from it.
  • You can add additional accounts as owners to better manage the account.

Once your DSA has been funded with assets you can start utilizing a variety of Dapps using the GUI.

:brain: Things to Consider when using a Smart Wallet

There are currently limitations when using a smart wallets so please carefully consider what assets and transactions you want to utilize with the DSA dashboard.

:truck: If you are withdrawing from an exchange or third party service please make sure they allow withdrawals to smart contracts.
:stop_button: You cannot use this wallet to connect to another Dapp using WalletConnect
:family_man_boy_boy: Only Authorities can withdraw and currently will gain FULL PERMISSION to the account

:goggles: View your DSA account on alternative dashboards

You can copy your DSA address and input it on any account viewers just like a standard Ethereum address. You may want to do this to see other specifics of your account that we may not provide you; here are some options:

:dart: TRUST WALLET interactions with the DApp using their browser doesn’t execute/crashes/etc (using Apple IOS)

Apple Android is known to have issues with their DApp browser; they are in the works of removing several Dapp browser applications from their store; please try connecting using Walletconnect. If you experience issues using the Android version please reach out so we can assist.

:dart: Invalid Data Received on Ledger when using Ledger with Metamask

Ledger updates to the Ethereum Application sometimes reverts the Contract Data Option; simply re-enable this option on the Ledger:

  • Open the Ethereum Application on the Ledger
  • Go to Settings/Contract Data
  • Change setting to: Allowed

:dart: Unable to draw DAI from a wBTC vault on Compound

The Compound protocol has a β€˜DAI Ceiling’ or a maximum amount of DAI that can be minted from wBTC. If you encounter issues minting DAI from wBTC vaults this may be the reason. You can check the Maker Protocol stats on daistats.com and confirm the current DAI thresholds.

:dart: Slippage on large trades

For large traders, please be aware of any potential slippages occurring when using leverage or save tools; we use the best rates at the moment you execute a command, additionally you can review the slippage before executing the trade towards the bottom of the screen.

:dart: The gui won’t execute and gives me the error message to contact the team

There are several reasons why you can be receiving this message; in general this message is a fail-safe and prevents you from executing a command that the gui thinks will fail. Here are some reasons why you received this message

  • Gas prices are changing rapidly or a delay in calculating gas prices
  • Delays in reading blockchain data from third party services like Infura (See Infura Status Here)
  • The gui cannot read your wallet correctly or the wallet became disconnected
  • Your country or ISP is blocking Instadapp or its part of its third party services
    The most common reason is changing gas prices or a delay with the blockchain; please wait a few minutes for gas prices to stabilize and then refresh
